MuseScore3 will not install
I've downloaded the MuseScore3 installation file, and it works until actual installation is to begin, where it stalls in the Windows Installer window with the message "Preparing to install..." and goes no further.
If I try to cancel this to start again, it remains hung up in the cancellation window. I have to use Task Manager to end the process and try again, but subsequent tries at installation have gone no further than the "Preparing to install..." notice.
I have Windows 10 version 1809 which Windows keeps telling me needs to be updated but fails to accomplish when attempted.
Any suggestions on this?

Sounds like you may need to do a little maintenance. Look up how to enter the elevated command prompt. Admin/cmd. From there you can run chkdsk, and sfc /scannow, routines. Easy to do. You can Google them.
The first looks for errors on your hard drive. The second looks for errors in operating system files. Both can happen to any computer. Neither hurt anything and might make it possible to update windows and install MuseScore.
