Get rid of rests over top of notes
Hi;
I'm putting together a play-book for me, for my irish flute, and I got a musescore of a tune for a piano....
It had a whole bunch of double notes. Flutes can't play double notes so I went through the score and one by one, deleted one of the double notes. Everytime I deleted one, it changed into rest.
Ok, so I hasn't found a way to delete those rests.
Any suggestions?

I've read that page (referenced above) at least a dozen time and I just can't put it together and see how you got rid of those extra rests. My blind spot obviously (being a newbie).
It seems to happen, quite frequently when I grab a MIDI and bring it into Musescore. I say that without any great authority but here is another one that has multiple voices - not that I want you to do anything about it..
I've got rid of all the other instruments, changed it to a flute, and transposed it down to what an Irish flute can handle but, as you can see, there are other "voices" still there. I've flipped voices back and forth but it's not working as well as what you were able to do with my original score. Your "clean-up" was perfect...
OK, the point of the replay is that I could sure use a "Plug-in" that would get rid of the extra voices or a tutorial to show me how to do it.
Thank you...

Hey, ignore the above!
I just figured out how to "search" help and there is enough references there about "voices" that one or more should give me that answer I'm looking for...
Thanks, anyway...

It would probably take you less time to enter notes with MuseScore than to correct an imported midi.
Right-click on a rest, Select-> More and from the dialog box choose what to delete
Then you will have to edit the unnecessary Voices to turn them into Voice 1

Be aware that during MIDI import, you can limit the number of resulting voices by using the import panel at the bottom of the screen.

WOW! Did that ever work!!!!
Played around with the options a lot and got it down to a pure, simple melody.
Amazing!!
Got rid of all the tuplets (bane of my existence)...
Only thing left for me to do (AFAIK) is eliminate the double notes but with all the other "stuff" out of the way it'll be relatively simple job
Thanks
