Hand clapping for instrumentalists. How do I get it to notate in the score for each instrument?
Hi. I am grateful to the MuseScore developers. I have successfully written a few short band arrangements with the program. My question: In the arrangement I'm working on now, I need the musicians who are not playing to clap on beats 2 and 4 for eight bars. How do I write this in, so that it plays back sounding as hand claps and not as the instruments?

Adding the notation is easy, just change the noteheads to x or whatever in the palette or Inspector. To change the playback sound, add a Change Instrument text from the palette.

Thank you! <3 I had the noteheads figured out but they sounded like a piccolo in the piccolo part...etc.

Where on the staff do I notate the hand claps? I am getting different percussion sounds, not hand claps, depending where I put the note.

Place it at a position where you get the sound you wish. Then use the inspector to "fix to line" the note to a given position on the staff visually.

Thanks--I will try that.
