Can I stop MuseScore from sending bank / instrument select messages?
MuseScore has the very irritating habit of sending instrument select messages at the beginning of each part, which completely break my synth configuration. Of course, I can always leave a four bar rest at the beginning of the piece and quickly run to change it, or edit out the message in Ardour, but that makes working with it a bit of a pain.
Is there a way to prevent it from doing it? Or else, is there some kind of midi plugin for Ardour that would filter out that message?

This was happening to me also. There may be other ways of doing it, but how I do it is I have a setting on my midi keyboard to lock the instruments to not allow changes (accept change messages). I think ALL midi keyboards have this setting. I have an OLD Korg.

but i'm not sending the midi signal via keyboard, but via a virtual bus from MuseScore to Ardour or a synth.

You are not sending the midi signal via keyboard but Musescore is sending a midi signal to your keyboard. You need to change the setting on your keyboard to not accept midi change messages.

But I don't have any keyboard connected when I'm using MuseScore with Ardour! It's just two programs in my laptop.
You can set your MIDI Keyboard not to receive Program Change messages from the setup menu.
That is, it is usually set from the receiver part, not the sender part.
