How to put in open dotted notation in MuseScore
Hello all, do you know how I can input notes with an open dot instead of a closed dot?
As opposed to a closed dot adding half of the value of a note, an open dot adds a quarter of the value of a note.

Thanks!

Such a notation doesn't exist. Not in MuseScorte at least, and I've never seen this before in any written published score

Thanks for the instantaneous reply! I've never seen this before either until I looked closer at the music, and I found it quite fascinating!
It seems to fill in some sort of gap of particular integer numbers of beats that can fit in one note (without tuplet notation).
Non-dotted notes can fit the dupleted number of beats; 1, 2, 4, 8 etc;
Dotted notes can fit tripleted number of beats; 3, 6, 12, etc.
Double dotted notes can fit 7, 14, 28 etc.
So theoretically open dotted notes can fit 5, 10, 20 etc?
The concept seems fascinating to me nonetheless. Thanks again for your reply!

Some other user some time ago proposed small "stars" for a 5-time notation.
There is no standard for it, so you'll always have to resort to workaround to use it (such as tying and then marking invisible)
Doesn't look like a standard notation, but it's probably possible to make a symbol to do just that. Whether you could get the Player to work with the timing is more questionable, but it should be possible to do it for engraving/printing purposes.

Yea, I suppose I can just tie it to a sixteenth note, make the tie and sixteenth invisible, then just plop the open dot next to the note. Thanks for your reply!
