how to set loop in musescore

• Nov 18, 2021 - 15:47

I am trying to create a loop from measure 35 to 45. I followed these intructions :
To loop from the Play Panel:
Select the note from which you want playback to start and click on the "Set loop in position" button. The "Loop Playback" button becomes active.
Select the last note of the desired playback region and click on the "Set loop out position" button.
Press the play button.
But it does not work ?

Thanks for any help you might provide !

I am using an existing score. I want to create a loop to play along with, to practice. I am not creating or writing a score.

Loop playback: Select a start note and click on the Loop in button; select an end note and click on the Loop out button. Press Play to hear the loop. The controls also work during playback.

I can't identify the Loop in button nor the Loop out button.

Please see the picture attached this is how my screen looks right now.

Is there a way to practice with separate hands in a file with the .mscz extension. What I mean is get I get just the sound for the Treble Key and also can I get the sound just for the bass key. I was able to do that with a file with the *.mid extension but I do not know if it is possible with af file with the *.mscz extension ?

In the midi file I was able. I messed around with mute buttons and by trial and error I obtained just the sound for the treble staff or just the sound for the bass staff.

When you suggest extract does it mean like copy/paste or is it more complex ? In view of the info below :

Does extract is the synonym fo Export it ? I would like to be able to extract Treble/Bass for piano, to be able to practice with separate hands,

I found the word "extract" in the following statement : "A part can be created from a specific instrument staff in the main score or even from a specific voice within a staff. This allows you to display multiple parts (e.g. Flute 1 & 2) on a single staff in the score but to extract them as separate parts."

MuseScore allows you to not only create and print a full score but also to generate individual player's parts from it.

A part can be created from a specific instrument staff in the main score or even from a specific voice within a staff. This allows you to display multiple parts (e.g. Flute 1 & 2) on a single staff in the score but to extract them as separate parts.

Part Playback
Musescore "solos" the Part you're viewing during playback—i.e. no other Parts sound. This is because the Mixer’s “Play Part Only” box is checked by default.
