new computer, can't get midi instrument to work
Subject says it all: I can input notes by qwerty but my carbon 49 input will not work. When I go to preferences, I/O, API: is MME; device: speakers/headphones.
The dropdown for midi input does not do anything when the arrow is clicked.
The last time I set up the midi input was 7 years ago when my last computer crashed, too. I cannot remember the setting I used.
I looked at the handbook and watched lesson number 4, but mine does not look like that and does not change similarly.
Any and all help will be most appreciated!

This is the only application where I use it.

It worked fine as of last week, when my hard drive failed.

Good news! I imported my old version of MS3 from my backup and, with changing to windows direct setting, I got the keyboard working.
The only downside I find is that I again have to personalize my palette, but I can live with that!
