Paste text from clipboard to all notes at once

• Jan 21, 2022 - 15:45

Hello all. I'm new to this forum and I know that this topic has been opened also in 2013 but was closed soon. I'm not new to Musescore though, I've been using it for quite some time and I'm spreading the Musescore gospel to fellow musicians :-).

I'm working in the church music scene (besides being a teacher in a Conservatory). And I'm making loads of sheet music for our musicians (mostly leadsheets with single melody, lyrics and chord symbols). I would love to see a function in which you can paste lyrics from clipboard at once to all selected notes. Musescore allows to paste from clipboard but I need to repeatedly type cmd-v in order to ge the syllables under the notes.

Curious to your ideas about this: is this complicated to realize in Musescore (I'm not a programmer, merely a musician) or am I the only person interested in such a feature?

By the way: I asked a friend of mine to develop an online tool to automatically break text into syllables for the Dutch language. And he managed quite well!

Thanks all, greetings from Holland

It's not unreasonable, and a "lyrics editor" feature has ling been discussed, it just hasn't been made a reality.

Meanwhile, on most keyboards, you don't need to literally press Cmd+V repeatedly, simply holding the key down should do the job.
