Changing pedal behaviour

• Jun 24, 2022 - 21:30

Hello, I want the pedal to end of the first beat of the next bar, rather than ending at the end of the first bar.
I've uploaded a picture of how I'm currently trying to achieve this, but it doesn't work.
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/lines the musescore handbook does not seem to mention anything on this.
I've found two forum posts which talk about this, https://musescore.org/en/node/321510 and https://musescore.org/en/node/46476
In both of them the solution presented is to use shift + right to extend the pedal by one note, this doesn't work as if the pedal is anchored to the treble clef then shift + right only extends the pedal by a quaver, not a full beat.
If the pedal is anchored to the bass clef then shift + right extends the pedal to the end of the second bar because of the semibreves.
I want to extend the pedal by one crotchet beat, so that the pedal change happens on the first beat of the second bar.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Here's the picture of your score:

It looks like the pedal change does happen on the first beat of the second bar.

If this is not a picture of your actual score, please attach the MuseScore mscz file, explaining the steps you perform and what happens instead.

I took your "score3-c.mscz" and added some comments with examples:
score3-d.mscz

To see the invisible notes in the final 2 bars (those with the desired pedal changes) use menu item: View and select 'Show Invisible'. When you click on an invisible note you can look in the Inspector and see that 'Visible' and 'Play' is unchecked. 'Stemless' is checked.
