Change 8 to 8va
I saw that you can add "va" in Ottavas in the inspector but don't see a change. I would also like to make this a global preference if possible so that 8va is what shows every time I choose that symbol.

Better use the correct glyph
<sym>ottavaAlta</sym>rather than<sym>ottava</sym>vaUntick Format > Style > Ottava > Numbers only. Or do that in the Inspector and then use the "Set as style" button

I was able to get the 8va but don't seem to be able to set to style.

Press the S button right of the "Numbers only" setting, you may need to scroll right a bit to see it
