increase length of 1st ending when remaining measures are on the next line
I know there is a simple way of doing this, but I can't find it in the manual or figure it out on my own. I have a first ending that is three measures long. However, the first of those three measures are on the end of one line of music, and the other two measures are on the beginning of the next line. Can someone let me know how to do that?

Just select all three measures before clicking the volta in the palette. Or if you've already added the volta to the first measure only, extend it with Shift+right. For more info on how to work with voltas and other lines, see the Handbook sections on those topics.
