How to stop all parts playing at the same time!
I'm new to MuseScore. How do I stop the entire piece (as in all of the staves) playing at the same time? Please help. I'm going nuts trying to figure it out and I can't find an answer anywhere!

The whole entire piece is playing at the same time as in all of the staves together. This doesn't solve the problem sorry.

Then look for the playback toolbar at the top right side of the screen:
This will pause playback. Press it again to resume.

Perhaps you do not wish to stop all parts from playing but wish to hear only selected instruments.
In that case, see:

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but all staves are supposed to play at once, just like how real ensemble, all instruments play at once. Did you perhaps not mean to do that, and actually mean to enter music for one instrument only, measures to be played one after another instead of multiple instruments all at once? If so, you should have added more measures, not more staves.
If none of this helps, please attach your score and explain in more detail so we can understand and assist better.
Do you want to solo a part? There is an option for that. You can look it up.
