Parts not working properly
So I made this simple arrangement of Carol of the Bells. One part I renamed from Accordion/Harmonika to just Harmonika. In Musescore this part has both treble and bass cleff, but I ignored the bass, and said it should hide empty systems (for this part). I don't know how to get an accodion part with out bass cleff. That would be nice.
Then I asked it for showing parts. And it made all my parts, but not the accordion part... Why was this omitted? So I asked for it manually, and it made it for me. But now the name of the part is the original "Accordion/Harmonika". I can live with that. ;)
There was an error with the rit. in the last bar (see other topic).
I saved the file, contend of what I've got (see part.jpg)
Next time I opened the file, the part was gone (parts2.jpg). In the list of parts I now have (yet another) part called "harmonika" (parts3.jpg). If I ask to get this part showed it's completely empty.
Any ideas?

I wouldn't pretend to know the proper way to do this. But I did spend some time with this.
It appears that you can't just rename a part. Or even change the instrument. I couldn't make either work as far as proper parts went. I added a harmonica part to the score. And had to delete the accordion part in the parts dialogue. Then the harmonica part displayed properly.

Hmm... I didn't think of that. I tried to change the part to the same instrument, and this time keep the name. The funny thing is, that it still did the same thing. It even added another "Harmonika" to my list.
Seems like this part of the new MuseScore does not work quite as it should...
Press "i" for the instrument dialog, select the bass part of the accordion and press "remove from score".
This is how it works in MuS 3.6.2 and should also work in MuS 4.
I am unsure about the other part of the question. In MuS 4 you can reset the parts. You may also have to delete them and create them again.
In 3.6.2 I can change the instrument name, then delete all parts and recreate them.

Yes, that works in MU3 to delete the bass clef part. But that option is not yet in MU4.

I didn't have these kind of problems with good old MuS 3! I like many of the new features, but I must admit, that the "old" MuS 3 was much better working when it comes to different parts. :(
Are you able to open my file in MuS 3.6.2?

Yes, I am!
If you have MuS 4 installed, the best way to export the score is as an xml file. This can be opened in older versions and also in other notation software.
I can't use MuS 4, so I use a zip tool to open the mscz file and extract the mscx. This opens without errors in almost all cases in MuS 3.6.2. There are some limitations: The header text (title, subtitle etc.) is not formatted). But this can be easily corrected by assigning formatting again in the inspector.
And if repeat signs were used in MuS 4, they lead to completely empty and not editable bars. A different string was used for the tag. But this can also be fixed with an ASCII editor. Try to open an extracted mscx with an ASCII editor to get an impression of how the notation is structured.

So much to learn... and not just about music. ;)
Somehow everything worked today, and the only new thing I tried was to rename the part name, ind the part overview... Today it worked like a charm. (I might have been scared of being replaced by the old MuseScore ;) ).
