How to edit bends
I'm trying to do a bend release and bend again without picking a second time. It says to click an intersection in the bend properties to create a new node, but nothing happens. How do you do it?

I've been trying to do the same thing. As far as I can see none of the down-bends (e.g., "pre-bend") actually work. Hope I'm wrong!

It seems the method to make the bend last longer is to write the destination note after the bend and then push bend again on the landing note on the original that should extend the bend . And to get the bend release you input the note you bend from in other words the landing note and push bend on the note before it. Hard to explain but try that out!

Apparently the "Bend Release" symbol doesn't have any effect on the actual play. (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on that!!! And tell me HOW to make it so!!!) The "Customize bend" screen on the "Bend Release" symbol simply cannot be modified ... again, as far as I can tell.
However, it appears that ttylden's idea does work. Put note 1 (bent note to release), then note 2 (un-bent note) then note 3 (target note for new bend), and join 1 and 2, then 2 and 3 with the "Full Bend" symbol (as if the bends were slurs). The "Customize bend" screen on that symbol does work, both up and down.
Click on the first bend symbol, set the timing of the down bend. Then click on the second bend symbol, and set its timing.
Is this what you were talking about, ttylden?

Okay, I coulda swore that I had tested all the possibilities, but apparently I missed something.
In my attached screenshot, the "Pre-bend" has no effect on playback and cannot be customized in the Properties. (Unless I've missed something there!!!) All the others can be customized and affect playback. However, the "Slight bend" only bends up.

Yes, excactly. Sorry for the late reply!

But also when it turns red, something has gone wrong and it won't affect the sound I think. I was banging my head against the wall until I got it close enough but don't remember exactly what I did..

No, oddly, that's not the case ... necessarily. Sometimes the red bends work and sometimes they don't. I can't quite figure it out.

Okay, I'm tryin' reeeal hard to fix this dumb bend and I have no idea how to, did y'all ever figure it out like 3 months later?

I don't know what's wrong with your bend so I can't tell you how to fix it. Two general notes, though:
a) Ignore it being red. It may or may not playback regardless of color, so just ignore it.
b) Highlight the bend and open the Properties tab to edit its sound. I recommend opening a blank score and including nothing but a few bended notes and playing with them to identify how a particular modification in the "shape" of the bend changes its sound.
