simultaneous notes with different lengths
Hello,
I'm just beginning and though I can easily find most informations, I missed this one : how can I write a combination of notes that do not last the same length ? For intent a E that lasts 1 beat AND a B that lasts 3 beats played simultaneously on the same treeble key ? Each time I'm trying to add a note with a different length, it wipes out the previous one. I could write E and B on the same place only if they had same duration using keyboard Alt pressed.

Quarters F, E and D in voice 1 and the dotted half note D in Voice 2. Similar all others with stem down in voice 2.
Write first voice 1, go to the beginning and switch to voice 2 and then write there the other notes.

OK thanks. Now I tried a bunch of things, and my mesure lasts 7 beats instead of 3 : how is that possible ? Each time I add a black I get 6 extra silences ??!

Did you use for note entry the insert mode instead of the default step-time mode?

I may have hit a short-cut that I did not know. How to set it back to a regular 3/4 mesure ?

The normal keyboard shortcut is "N" for note entry.
If you click on the pencil (top left), you can select different input modes. Here is a picture from the manual:
Make sure you are using the default mode (step time).

Forgotten: Right-click on the measure and select measure properties. Enter 3/4 under 'Actual'.
