Right off I have a problem. Where do I find "Add/Frames/Append Vertical Frame...;"?

"Add" is a menu that should have a label near the top of your window. Click on it and you will see various options, one of which is Frames. Click on that and you should see the option Append vertical frame. This method of operation is common to most PC applications.
