3.7 "Evolution" - Test feature: Clone measure ranges/frames

• Sep 17, 2024 - 14:49

Any users of 3.7 out there: it'd be nice if you could test measure cloning.
Any bugs found or whatever could be posted here.
The point is the ability to clone all data, so time signatures, key signatures, tempo texts, barlines, all that gets copied and inserted into new cloned measures, given a "paste (clone)" position rather than "pasted into" pre-existing measures

Artifacts are to be found at this PR: https://github.com/Jojo-Schmitz/MuseScore/pull/645

Right click menu has Paste (clone) added to it. Should work between scores etc after performing a normal [range selection] and [copy}... so it's a potential time saver depending on what you're trying to accomplish. Can also Ctrl+Shift+Drag frames to clone them as insertions (or even regular copy/paste). Some demos are on the PR file, but a quick small gif here too:

Should be okay operating system wise doing the same things with the same score(s), but alternative attempts to do something else with whatever scores and other intentions is what draws curiosity. Main concern is getting any crash reports so that they're fixed quickly. So far so good over here.
