Playback fades in after a measure and a half

I compose by listening and adjusting. Musescore 4 up to date on all three computers I use.
I would like to be able to click on a beat press play and hear that beat and all the instruments attached and beginning at that beat. Am I asking too much?

Here on MacOS in MuseScore 4.4.2 I get a slow fade in as you describe. This is on a tricked-out MacBook Air M2.

    • Click the start point
    • press Play (or the space bar)
    • MuseScore fades in ... so I'm unable to hear the exact start of the note or chord

My audio buffer is at 512
