How to duplicate 'whip' sound?
I am trying to make a newly composed percussion - cajon. I thought 'Whip' instrument was perfect for cajon slap and I copy-pasted the Drum code from Instrument id="whip", but it didn't sound same, it sounded just Chinese Cymbal. So I added the Channel code also (from Whip). And nothing changed.
So what is the difference between whip and my percussion? I just copy and pasted the code. I really want to use the whip sound for my instrument. please help. thank you.

If you want to use a "Whip" sound in your Dru-kit you can EDit the "General MIDI Percussion Kit" and select only the "Whip" or the Instruments (sounds) you need. You must of course deleted the sounds you do not want, and then save the created "new-Kit" whit the name you want in the directory ../museScore4/styles/.drm.
Later you can always load it again, when you want to use it. Observe that de MIDI number used in MuseScore for the Whip is 28. In Your example you have used 52, this number is allocated in MuseScore to "China Cymbals". I attache an example I was creating for you. Maybe it helps you.

Thanks for your help, but the sound#28 is Slap. If I choose the instrument Whip, it just sounds different, and I cannot found it in the General MIDI Percussion Kit.
And as you can see, it is basically the sound#52.

I am very sorry. I do not know what Version of MusiScore you use and what Operating System. I work with a german version MuseScore 4.5.2 under Ubuntu 22.04 LtS. In my system the pitch which is assigned to the "Whip" in the standard instruments.xml file von MuseScore is set pitch= 52 . As comment appears "China Cymbal".
In the "GM Drum Kit" instrument group, which can be selected in the Menu "Layout" - > unpitched-percussion, , appears the instrument "Whip" but with a pitch = 28. You can see that (in my system) by opening the "GM Drum Kit" (when using the customize Kit). It seems to be an inconsistence in the assignement, but MuseScore some times uses the Standard Midi Numbers /Pitches for other purposes. I attach some documentation I have collected in case it can help you. But may be you already know this thinks.
