Some channels not exported to MIDI?
1. Open attached mscz (produced in 1.3).
2. 'File'>'Export…'.
3. Choose 'MIDI'.
4. 'Save'.
5. Play file.
Expected result: Six notes are heard.
Actual result: Two notes are heard.
Note: The exported MIDI is attached.
Discussion: I don't know what bars or channels are being ignored, or if there's another problem.
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build dc48ff5 - Mac 10.7.5.

It's already been reported........
#35276: Exported MIDI doesn't feature all tracks
Looks as though it should be reopened?

Ah - I see it is a little different - I thing the problem is probably related though.
I do wonder whether the whole MIDI engine needs an overhaul?

Why are you wondering about this? the MIDI rendering is used for MIDI export but also for playback, and I'm not aware of that many bugs. Is there anything in particular that make you wonder?

It's channel and port allocation that worry me.
If we are to give better support for VSTs and other external sound sources then we are going to need user control over channel and port allocation, which currently isn't possible.

Adding channel and port is quite different than a complete overhaul ;)
Igervorse worked on the channel port assignation this summer https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/1083 It just needs some more testing.
On the other hand, MuseScore 1.3 didn't have channel/port customization and for most of the users, it just worked. It would be a pity that the UI becomes hard to use to address the needs of a few. Jack and VSTi are not going to become mainstream any time soon.

I agree about the UI.
Any MIDI port and channel assignation controls should be part of a hidden interface accessable by those who want to use it.
