Tremolo causes playback issue
simply put, when I use tremolo on any instrument it causes a kind of stuttering, slowing the playback down to about 5% normal speed and makes a sound like a speaker overload. I had managed to resolve the problem sometimes caused in Beta 2, but in RC, when I tried the same thing, (which was to start in factory settings) it didn't stop the problem.

If you mean, using the "Tremolo strings" MIDI channel, yes, I've heard things like that too. Not sure why. But the actual tremolo symbol in the palette doesn't use that sound, and should work fine. if you find otherwise, please psot the specific score you are having problems with so we can investigate.

The issue is not caused by the 'tremolo strings', i've never found cause to use it. I've found that it's the tremolo in the palette that causes issues. I was using the 'demi-semi-quaver' tremolo on timpani and it would cause the problem and then later in the strings, i'll post the score to my page. It's called 'on the riverbanks'.

Your score plays fine for me. What OS, what kind of CPU? I'm running Linux on a very weakly-powed system (a Chromebook, actually).

windows 8 on an Acer aspire E. 8gb ram, Intel core i3. Could it be that i need to allocate a larger amount of ram?

I realise that i said before using factory settings doesn't help, but i tried it again just now and it seemed to resolve the issue. I don't understand why it would make a difference though, as i've never adjusted any settings after opening from the desktop short-cut.

Could just be coincidence, and the problem might have been some other program on your system hogging the CPU. Or somehow MuseScore itself got into a state where it was hogging the CPU, and the restart itself would have fixed it even without the revert to factory settings. Anyhow, glad it's working!

I think you may be right about the restart fixing it, there seems to be no problem now and I'll remember to restart the program if the problem appears again in the future. thanks for the support.
