Tempo Issue
Hello everyone. I am sort of new to the MuseScore music maker application and I am already having a problem. (What a surprise!) I want the tempo for my song to go at 130 beats per measure and it's in 12/8. I have the tempo set at 130, but it's not going at around 80 beats per measure. Can someone help me?

Beats per measure??? Rather per minute I guess?
What tempotext did you use?
"(Quarter note) = 130" should result in 130 beats per Minute.
Same for "(Eight note) = 65". But on 80
Did you (on top?) alter the current playback tempo using the Play Panel? Only if that is set to 100% you'd see the tempu set via tempo text.
If nothing helps, can you share the score (the mscz file) and attach it here?

See https://musescore.org/en/node/86641#comment-382441. Delete that tempo and replace it with the last one from the Tempo palette, with a dotted quarter note, and you'll be good to go.
For 12/8, typically you would want a tempo marking to indicate a dotted quarter note.

And "(dotted quarter) = 87" to get 130BPM

I was actually thinking of it the other way around—"quarter = 130" would give 87 BPM (or would feel like it, in a compound time signature)—but yes.
Basically, it depends upon what you are counting as one "beat". If you mean that the piece is written in 12/8 but conducted as 4 beats of the baton per bar then you'd set it to dotted quarter note = 130. If you mean that each quaver is a beat with 12 beats to the bar then set it at quaver (eighth note) = 130.
Note that you set the tempo via tempo text in the score. Adjusting the tempo in the Play Panel only affects current playback speed and is useful for getting the feel of a piece or speeding it up or slowing down to analyse it. In the play panel the speed is given as quarter-notes per minute so Play Panel 180 = dotted quarter note tempo text 120 = quaver (eighth note) per minute 240.
So, work out what you mean by a beat (imagine conducting the piece) and then enter the appropriate tempo text in the score.

Most of the time, in 12/8, the beat is a dotted quarter. If, however, you enter the tempo using the menu command Add -> Text -> Tempo, it will use a quarter note by default. Therefore, if you enter "quarter = 130", you will find it seems to playback at 87 BPM—87 dotted quarter beats per minute. To get a tempo with a dotted quarter note, look in the tempo palette on the left.
