Copy volta settings into parts.
At the moment, while in score mode, a setting for volta positioning applies only to the score - each part has to be set individually.
I think that in this case at least, a setting in the score should automatically be copied to the parts.

I agree. All staff specific layout changes should be sent to the score, but they are not. You must go back and redo them all in each part :(
Certain text are almost always at the bottom of the staff, but there is no below the staff text, only whatever the default is. So this text must be adjusted on each part like the voltas. These are but a few examples of needless double work.

Your volta and staff text are the specific examples I was referring to. Other examples include relocating dynamics, trills and crescendo lines. These are changes I typically make as I enter a score, but have to redo on each part when I extract them. There are probably more, but if all staff specific edits were passed to the parts like is done with articulations and ornaments editing would be much easier.

Yes I have, and I explained my objections.
What you ask is already possible. Volta position affects the current score only by default, as it should. However, see the "Apply to All Parts" button at the bottom of the dialog. This applies all style settings from the score (or whatever part you are editing) to all parts.
What I am proposing for breaks, BTW, is the analogue of this - a facility to copy all breaks to parts, working just like the existing facility to copy style settings to parts.

Great. I had tried that but that was when I was using the facility in the text style - never though to try it once I had been lead to the volta in the general style.
That would be a great way to solve my request re: breaks.
