How do I have a header on the first page only?

I still don't get it.

I interpret "Hold down mouse" as meaning to click in the box - the options disappear.

If I just place the cursor there, the options appear.

What I want to achieve is a number in the top right corner representing its number in the book.

I go to Header in General style. I place the number in the top right corner.

I go to Text style. There I put a box around the number and am able to manipulate the position so that it is the right size and in the right place.

Terrific.

However, I cannot understand how to have that number appear ONLY on the first page.

Help???

I have spent so much time just getting that far.

Okay, using Soichi's last recommendation and fiddling with the various text values, I finall got it to work!!

  1. Add the frame.
  2. Insert the text.
  3. Deselect the frame
  4. Then: Right click on the frame and text properties, style etc. come up.
  5. Go to style, adjust the vertical and horizontal off sets until the text (boxed is in the appropriate place.

As to Using $P, should there be a space between them?
Does that instruction come before or after the text?

Thanks both.
