Playback Buttons disabled.
The Playback buttons are disabled. I have tried a lot of things but nothing seems to be the solution.
Any help would be more than appreciated.

Please share MuseScore version, Operating System and what you see in Preferences→I/O and the Synthesizer window, Fluid tab.

I am using the latest version: 2.1 (I downloaded the latest version available on live). The one I bought from Amazon had the same problem. My laptop is the latest Microsoft Surface Pro (Intel Core i7, 256GB, 8GB RAM, Model 1796). The operating system is Windows 10.
Preferences:
- Show play panel ticked
- IO is empty (Port Audio is ticked but there is no information)
I can't find anything call Synthesizer window or Fluid tab?

This seems to indicate that MuseScore is possibly not picking up on your Surface Soundinterfaces.
PortAudio should indeed be checked, but the API dropdown shouldn't be empty. I'm unsure about the Surface/Win10 entryname, but it should likely be something as MME and/or Windows DirectSound
I know of at least one other user using MuseScore2.1 on a Surface Pro 4, so it should be working out of the box…

I went to control panel... and tried to reconfigure the sound... now PortAudio shows "MME" and Device shows also something. It's very strange because I bought this machine on Sunday.
Anyway, Musescore is now working very well. I am so happy with it.
