Connecting Yamaha NP16 keyboard
Connected new Yamaha NP12, select N plus a note in musescore and all I get is a chord sound and not a single note display and sound.
Have checked that local is off on the piano keyboard.

Have you followed the directions?
Also
Go to Edit→Preferences... (Mac: MuseScore→Preferences...). In the preferences dialog, click on the I/O tab.

I followed the suggested procedure and all is working ok now. I now realize how important it is to follow the instructions in order.
