symbol size versus table cell size wrong in palettes (Mac OS, latest version)
The attached screen shot says it all:
For a number of palette items the symbols that are displayed are way too large for the cell size. This issue started appearing after some Mac OS update I guess, around the time MuseScore went from 2.1 to 2.2 (or 2.2.1).
Am I the only one who sees this issue? Is there a known remedy to change the cell size independently from the symbol size? I know about the -x option but it changes both the cell and symbol size so no matter how large I make the value, the symbols still do not fit in the cells.

Alas, this has the same effect as -x regarding the cell size versus symbol size. -x and -D scale everything in the same way and do not make cells larger to accommodate symbols that should not become larger.
The effects are not permanent though. Here is another screen shot.
Here the grace notes are tiny, the dynamics are normal but do not quite fit and the tremolo symbols are too high for the cells they get.

What version of MuseScore? if 2.2, why is there an Accordion Palette, is it a custom workspace?

The version is MuseScore 2.2.1 but I also tried with 2.1 (restored from time machine backup) and it is the same. Symbol sizes are not always consistent and the symbols do not fit the cells.
The "Accordion" palette is one I created, using register symbols from the master palette.
Just as an illustration, another screen shot. Now you can see that the Fingering symbols and the Noteheads symbols do not fit in their cells. The problem is quite inconsistent: the symbol versus cell sizes are rather unpredictable.

So it is a custom workspace. Try reset to factory (and then create a custom workspace and add your accordion palette again)

Lo and behold, that fixes it!
Somehow MuseScore got confused by the Accordion palette. I have saved it, created a new workspace in which I loaded it again, and no problem. I hope the solution will stick...
