oh i see! but how do i add an ossia to an existing score? i didnt know about this previously so i didnt create an extra staff for ossia

Hi, i figured out how to create an ossia. however, when i go to style, general, score and hide empty staves, some staves just dont hide. why is this so? attached is the pic of my score

better share the score rather than a picture of it.
I suspect the p is causing that staff to not hide
Hmm, unless that belongs to the top staff... in which case... we'd need the score to look at ;-)

Did you deselect "Don't hide empty staves in the first system" in general settings?

Ahh... that solved my problem.. thanks so much... also, is multimeasure rests unable to be invisible? Can’t seem to select measure properties on it.. thanks for all your help thus far

measure properties on a multimeasure rest doesn't make much sens, which of the multip measures do you want to tweak?

i’d just like to make one of the multimeasure measures to be completely invisible, includng the bar lines etc

Then it needs to be on a system of its own, like a system break before and on its last measure
