Anacrusis Marking Above Measure
Just checking, but am I right in thinking the little blue line above a pick up measure is just a marking to show that it is a pick up measure?

You are correct. Any measure with fewer beats than the time signature has a blue - above them and any with extra beats have a blue + above them.

Just re-read your reply - it is acually a 'minus' sign for less, 'plus' for more - makes sense - haven't used extra beats in ages so never have seen the plus sign.
