How do I remove bars from an entire score?

Hi there,

I'm editing a big band score, and need to nip out two surplus bars from all the staves. I've tried everything I can think of - and pulverised the manual - but can't for the life of me see how to do this. If I mark and bound the bars, neither 'cut' nor 'delete' does the job. Help!
