Playback and editing glitches getting in the way since update
Since as soon as I started using musescore 3, I've been running into glitches every couple of minutes that make my software seem haunted or corrupted
Multiple things can happen when I try to play back a score:
-the player will jump ahead a half page or several and start playing another segment
-the player will select a nearby chord to play and freeze on it - not with the grinding sound you hear before a
crash, but just the midi sounds themselves being sustained
-the player will readjust the page view to cut off 2/3 of my view of the staves
-nothing will happen
-some combination of the four
I also can't upload the video of this happening for clarity
Additionally, when I try to copy-paste anything longer than 3 beats, it will come out on the paste side with chunks missing, and the lyrics function will sometimes back up and write over previous syllables.
All this makes working with the software very slow and frustrating.

Which version of MuseScore are you running? On which Operating System (Windows? Mac?)
Windows seems to be.

It's not a specific score, it's all scores, and I don't know how any of it is happening other than clicking play anywhere

All scores you've tried, maybe, but it happens for none of mine, so likely your scores all have something in common. Again, we can't begin to help or investigate until we can reproduce the problem(s).

FWIW, that's not your actual score, it's a backup file. The real score has no leading period or trailing comma.
Anyhow, I entered a note on the viola staff and it played viola sound for me. Same with the notes already there. Is there a particular note in a particular measure you are having a problem with? Are you perhaps using a non-standard soundfont?
I've been having this same problem... its been happening with all scores so I'm trying to figure out what it is about my computer that's causing the issue.
