should I uninstall Musescore 3
I installed the latest version (3) without uninstalling the version I had (2). The new version doesn't have the "notes" option on the tool bar. I don't know if that caused the problem, but at any rate, I need that option. Any suggestions?

MuseScore 2 and 3 coexist peacefully.
What do you mean by notes option, the note input toolbar or the note menu?
The latter now is under the Add menu

That video was most probably made with MuseScore 2.
And there is no holiday weekend here ;-)
