How to change the colour of "cresc.- - -"
I am making up my editorial alteration in a colour and want to show what I believe is a missing "cresc. - - - -" from one part my adding it in red. If I change either the element colour or line colour from inspector to red, both change, but only the dashes line changes colour. "cresc." remains in black. How do I change the colour of the text?

That seems to be an oversight or a bug. You should submit a suggestion at https://musescore.org/en/node/add/project_issue?pid=1236 to have this fixed.
