Fretboard Diagrams

• Jan 8, 2020 - 12:42

I know how to insert a fretboard diagram to a stave, to modify, copy and paste it inside of the stave, but i cannot paste or save it to a palette. Neither to the delivered Fretboard Diagrams or to a new created palette.

What version of MuseScore? With 3.3 it should not be necessary to create a workspace or custom palette or do anything special to prepare for adding elements to a palette. But you do always need to Ctrl++Shift+drag (Cmd+Shift on macOS) when adding an element from the score.

MuseScore 3.3.4 on Linux Mint 19.3.

You are right, it is working. The problem happens, when the diagram was shifted away from the x=0, y=0 position in the score. With a position x=0, y=-7 and Ctrl+Shift+drag to the palette it is stored in the palette, but out of sight. I did not notice this, when opening this topic. The position can be corrected in the palette.

Thanks.

That's awfully high - is there a reason you're doing that? The default position should normally be good, since it automatically avoids collision with notes etc anyhow. Or if you just want all fret diagrams very high for some reason, change the style setting rather than individual properties. Chances are whatever it is you are trying to do, there is a better way to do it. Feel free to attach your score so we can understand and assist better.
