How do you delete objects like rests it has put in incorrectly from an upload?
Also, how do you beam 2 notes?

The delete wont delete it. It's a quaver rest and it doesn't belong in the score as there is no silence in the score.
I'm new to this software. What's a voice 1 rest?
As for the beams, I still can't see how to beam 2 notes together. The link only shows how to alter existing ones. I want to beam 2 notes that don't have a beam.

a voice 1 rest is a rest in voice 1... see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/voices
Voice 1 had to be complete. Other voices are optional.
You can't beam notes if they are quarter notes or longer, ie if they don't have beems or flags.
A notes with flags can get bemened woth the options shown on that handbook page
