Hiding ostinato parts / getting playback for anything hidden
Is there the possbility of doing that?
For example, if I want an instrument to play a written part over a 4 bar repeating pattern of another instrument, do I just have to paste the pattern out all the way through and keep it around to have an audio reference, and then delete the redundant parts when I'm done composing so that I can use the "hide empty staves" function?
Or is there some way to do this more organically?

You can hide an entire staff (actually an entire part/instrument), even is not empty

No. But add a 2nd one for that hidden ostinato

alright, it's probably too unwieldy for this specific situation but I'll keep it in mind for the future
