Midi input not working

• Apr 11, 2011 - 02:33

Hi - sorry to bug you. I have searched through the forums and can't find an answer. Any help would be great.

I'm running Musescore 1.0, Windows Vista. I have a keyboard and I'm not having any success with the midi input. When I go to device manager it shows that the device is working and when i use Midi-ox, it is recognizing the midi input.

In Musescore the "midi" icon is totally greyed out, pressing it does nothing. I went to edit, preferences, i/o options, and where it says "choose portmidi input interface" there is nothing in the dropdown box. It's just blank, and when i press the arrow it is still blank.

Any suggestions?

Can you attach a screenshot of your Edit -> Preferences -> I/O ?
You should have Use Internal synthesizer and Portaudio checked. Start your MIDI interface and restart MuseScore. Go to I/O and the MIDI combo should be filled.

Lasconic - thank you so much for taking the time to write.

I'm attaching a screen shot. I plugged in the USB cord for the MIDI (WIndows recognized it), and started MuseScore. This is the image. No matter what I click on the drop down menus underneath PortAudio (API, Device, or Choose Portmidi input interface), they are all blank. Nothing happens when I click the arrow.

Thank you again for any help you can offer!
