Noobie: Can't seem to put a 1/2 rest in the first part of a measure
I'm trying to rest for 2 beats at the beginning of the measure and then come in on an 1/8 note on the down beat. It keeps putting the note BEFORE the rest and I can't figure out how to get it AFTER the rest.
Help please.

If in standard mode.
Then press 6. You should see 2 half rests. Also use the duration symbols at the top.

The way to enter what you describe is:
1. hit N to enter Note Input mode
2. hit "6" to set the time value to a half not
3. hit "0" to enter a rest
4. hit "4" to set the time value to an eighth note
5. hit the letter of the note you want to enter
