Removing Staves for particular Bars.

Hi,

Firstly thanks for this amazing software!

I hope the subject of this topic makes sense. I'm using Muse score for guitar tab, I play in a covers band and up until now I've been using Word to hash together chord charts and the like. I find Word extremely frustrating to use, and when dealing with 30 or so songs, it proves it's self so much of a pain I end up resorting to writing by hand. Which is ok, but I find it not as easy to follow.

So thankfully I found Muse Score.

So to my question, what I would like to do is be able to have a mixture of Tab, which is of course sorted, and then be able to have sections where I have written the chords within the bar lines, so removing the staves would make them a lot more intelligible in a dark and gloomy venue. Chord charts above tab are too small so I'm having to create text boxes and then move them to the centre of the tab and make the font big and bold. It works well enough but I find the stave slightly distracts the eye. Although I could make the font bigger. Is there a way to disable staves for particular lines, or bars even? THis would make this software perfect for me.

I'll attach the first sheet I did with Muse Score so you can understand what I mean.

Thanks..

Try this:
Create a TAB staff and another separate staff for the chord names.

Right click a measure in the staff with the chord names, then in Staff Properties click 'Invisible staff lines'. This gets rid of the staff lines for the chords, and leaves the TAB staff lines intact.

In Style -> General -> Score -> 'Hide empty staves' and uncheck 'Don't hide empty staves in first system.
To prevent the chord staff from disappearing, you can enter a note in the staff and make it invisible.

See attachment.
Regards.
