Recorded Tempo not the Same

I have finally successfully recorded a composition of mine. While playing the CD I hear, that, though the tempo = 68 bpm, the recorded version on the CD plays 120 bpm, as if I did not change the play panel. My question is: how can I record a composition, that has a tempo different from 120 bpm, in the correct tempo? Thanks for your help. My email is: hhenpo7@aol.com .
