Textual names inconsistency
Hello.
In the Text Palette I find this inconsistency, which made me trouble at the beginning.
If "Staff Text" means to add precisely that, "System Text" means to add precisely that, and all other means so, except "Swing".
Will it or not add "swing" - precisely? If it will add tempo, it should stay "Tempo".
Since "swing" is not tempo but the way it is performed (performance instruction).
It would be great not to have such confusion. Even "Allegro" would be more clever to have than "Swing".
But I recommend to use instead "Tempo" since it will add precisely that.
In other notation softwares there are "swing" setting - which makes music not to be exact in execution.

Swing does not truly affect tempo. Play back the attachment, then delete the 'Swing' marking and replay.
(Use the metronome, if you wish.)

Yes, it will, precisely. You add it in the score, add a couple 8th notes, press play and they will be played with a swing feel.

Not it will not change the tempo. And there is already a full tempo palette a bit more down. It does miss Allegro and others but we do have a discussion here to add them back: https://musescore.org/en/node/82466

I see, now I understand.
However, isn't swing a playback feature? Do other text entries can change the tempo or playback?

Yes, the tempo texts all affect playback. For other text types, they won't affect playback *by default* but you can then configure the playback effect. For example, if you add a staff text "pizz.", you then right-click the text, select Staff Text Properties, and set the playback to switch to the pizzicato channel (assuming you've added this staff text to a staff that actually defines a pizzicato channel, like stringed instruments). Similar for "con sordino" etc. Or, for instrument changes, you add an "Instrument" text (which is a different type of text from staff text), and now instead of Staff Text Properties, you'll have a different dialog that allows you to configure an instrument change at that point.
