Since we have marching cymbals on a 5-line staff, it would be a good idea to try to reduce the ambiguity of putting all the notes on the center line by moving some of the "speciality" notes to different lines or spaces and/or changing their noteheads (ideally, I'd like to have one sound per position+notehead).

Related, would it be a good idea to move the "default" note position for cymbals (and snare drums) from the center line to the space above it? I think that may help legibility somewhat, but that may be habits from my old days as a Finale user showing through. Either way, it's where I usually put most of the notes when I hand-write music, so I'd like to know if this is a better standard than the center line or more of a personal preference.

Giving a home to discuss the specifics of my improvements from this post.

I've got a couple related issues I'm working on as well, so I'll update once I have the PR(s) ready to review.

I've made commit 77bdc12 with my proposed changes.

Let me know what you think of the new key assignments and if you find that my improved notation is, in fact, an improvement.

Perhaps for the stick click, and for that matter the stick shot, could be moved to line 0 on the 5-line staff. It seems to be more often than not for those to be there, while I do see rim shots on line 5 with the XCircle type of note head.

When it comes to the rim, I see clicks on line 1.
When I see stix, I see clicks with a cross note head on line 0 and a "Mi" note head on the same line.
