musescore.com Sheet and Sound Sync

• Jun 10, 2016 - 16:20

When looking through notes on the official sheet music website, musescore.org, there is a on-page audio player and sheet music preview.

Now, when you start pressing play, the music starts, and the red bar on the sheet music starts moving according to the sound as well. That's fine.

However, when for example, the internet speed decreases, and the music pauses, buffers, or lags for a second, the red bar still moves. This means that when the music starts again, the red bar is not in sync, and is way ahead of the music you hear, making it hard to listen to particular notes on the sheet.

This should be fixed. I don't know how it possibly can be fixed, but it bugs me a lot, especially since my computer has a varying network speed.

Welcome on board.
It sometimes happens, for various reasons. In case of persistent difficulties you can download the score to open it on your PC. Just an idea. Regards.

I've been experiencing this a lot lately, too. It basically does come down to "get a faster connection."

It would be nice if the whole player would pause, though, to buffer, instead of only the audio pausing while the visual keeps going.
