Comments and help for moving notes question

First, a few things getting here got in my way.

I typed in my email address and password but it wouldn't accept it. I had to go through the password retrieval process. I know I entered the password in correctly.

Second, there is no top link for these forums so you have to constantly scroll down to come to the forums area. You might want to change this so there is a forum link at the top.

It's been about 5 years I think since I used this program, and it's gotten a lot better. Thanks for continuing the development.

The problem I am having now is that I can move a note up and down, but I can't move it side to side. Specifically, I added quarter notes and I wanted to make 2 of them eighth notes together, but the program added an eighth note rest in between and after the second note keeping them at the same starting point.

How do get it to remove rests and keep the notes intact consecutively? Instead of rests, I want all notes to come closer like I am removing a space.

Example:

abcdefg hijklmnop

If I wanted h to move sideways I would want the end:

abcdefghijklmnop (no spaces in between letters/notes)

Right now it is doing the following:

abcdefg h ijklmnop

Even if I could move h closer, I wouldn't want to move i through p to the left individually. I want to move them all as a group to the left at one go.

Is this possible? If not, please add this in a future upgrade.

That worked, but I was hoping for a way to automatically do that. Everytime I change the duration of a note, I have to cut and paste. I want to put in a series of notes and then determine the length later.

Right now it is programmed to insert rests, I am sure there is a way to do the opposite.

Also, it's not allowing me to paste in tuplets, even if I have matched the following notes accordingly.

There's been some talk floating around of adding a sort of "free rhythm" mode like that, where things just flow around without barlines or set time positions and you can "put in a series of notes and then determine the length later"—but no real action on that front so far. Best to get used to thinking about the rhythm as you go along, or cutting and pasting judiciously.

Pasting into tuplets is deliberately disabled in order to prevent a bug in 2.0 that caused corruptions: #53266: Corruption pasting into a sequence that ends in the middle of a tuplet
