Why does my music not have the right Soundfont?

• Jun 19, 2016 - 05:30

When I upload my music to Musescore for peeps to hear and stuff, BOOM! My the instruments are all different and sound like the default Soundfont.

How do I make it so the scores I upload to Musescore have a different Soundfont?

For a couple of days, you can add a different audio source. Check your score page on the right, "Manage audio sources". For the moment, it only supports Youtube videos. However you can create a youtube video featuring your score and a custom audio file with "Send to youtube" in the same menu. If you select this option, it will ask your for an audio file and also if you want to have the created video as a new audio source automatically. This is all in development, so feedback is welcome here https://musescore.com/contact

I think it works very well. Headache99, here's a score where the uploader did it exactly as lasconic described: https://musescore.com/bryce-poindexter/scores/2289176

Click the

in the top right corner to see the various audio sources, one of which (the default) is an automatically generated YouTube video using a different SoundFont. However, I think this option may only be available with a Pro account.
