Red note
Why have some notes been coloured red. The inspector says they are black and I can't change the red note.

Are probably notes out extension. See Preferences->Note Input:

By default, MuseScore automatically marks notes that are not playable for the instrument you have selected. They appear red on screen but print normally. The option mentioned above allows you to turn this warning off so they don't appear red on screen either. But do consider whether you ened to change something in your arrangement. Occasionally these warnings are too conservative - the note *is* playable for players of sufficient skill, or for specially-designed versions of an instrument - but it's also possible you simply weren't aware the note you wrote is too high or too low.
