MuseScore editor doesn't launch

After choosing a score from the Start Centre, or double-clicking a score file to launch the program, or clicking "Finish" in the Create New Score interface, MuseScore opens a window that should be the editor but doesn't go any further. The window appears on my Start menu and can be focused but doesn't appear or render at all.

I uninstalled and reinstalled MuseScore and nothing changed. I have MuseScore 2.0.3 (32-bit) on Windows 8.1 (64-bit).

I tried running MuseScore from a command prompt but it didn't output anything to the terminal window.

Any chance you had it open at a 2nd monitor at some point and now that screen isn't connected?

Try running it from the command line with "-F" as an argument: MuseScore.exe -F. This will reset all preferences and positions to defaults, something a reinstall doesn't do.
