placing treble clef on percussion line and percussion clef on glockenspiel

• Aug 30, 2016 - 05:16

I want the glockenspiel player to play triangle. However, when I place the percussion clef on glockenspiel line, nothing shows up. Is there a way around this? (w/o using hide empty staffs)

"However, when I place the percussion clef on glockenspiel line, nothing shows up."

Because the glockenpiel is an instrument belonging to the category of the pitched percussions (as you can see in the Instruments dialog), so with an expected treble clef, while the triangle belongs to that of the unpitched percussions, with an expected percussion clef.
Similarly, would you have the idea (and it does not work by the same reason) to place a percussion clef eg, on a flute score, or a TAB clef on a piano or saxo scores ?! Probably not!
This kind of confusion can lead to such issues: #97416: Toggle between clefs of unpitched percussion and pitched percussion leads to a crash

Sorry, these steps are not clear for me until now.

So:

1) New score for glockenspiel
2) "Placed another extra treble in front of that" (?) What do you mean by "extra treble in front of that"?
3) "then switched whole staff to triangle". Ie, you go in Staff Properties for changing instrument "Glockenspiel" vs. "Triangle", right?
4) "Add triangle notes in front". "In front"?

Result: "still can't add percussion clef. ended up just using treble." ?

Could you please:
1) attach your score (always the better way for helping)
2) precise and rectify the four suggested steps and reported above. Thanks.
