Copying

Hi,
I'm new to writing in Musescore, and when I've started writing, I forgot about choosing teh right instrument. I've ended writing, and I noticed that when I play it, it makes sounds of a piano, not a french horn. I've created a new file, it's for a french horn, but when i copy, the program automatically converts it from piano to french horn, and I don't want that. Can I somehow turn that off?

First, to change the playback sound to French horn, there is no need to create a new file. Just right click the existing staff, Staff Properties, Change Instrument, and select your instrument.

As for the copy "converting" from piano to French horn, I thought that was exactly what you are trying to do? Or maybe you mean "transposing"? If you have already entered the notes at the correct notated pitch for french horn (and thus they sound the wrong pitch when you play them back), simply transpose them to the correct pitch after the operation. Ctrl+A to select all, then Notes / Transpose.
