tightening up the layout
Hi all, On another thread I learned "When you want your music to go on a new system, you add a line break... [which] can be done by ... selecting a barline and press Return." This is way cool!!
But I need to know how to do the reverse: I have measures spread out way too much over two systems, and would like to force them all back to one system.
How do I do that?
TIA, Ch.S.

Cool, I didn't know that you could add line breaks that way either. To remove them, select the green icon and delete it.

The trick with layout in MuseScore is to leave it to the very end of the scoring process.
That way you are less likely to end up with single bars stretched across one line.
If you want to fit more measures on a line than musescore eants to, you need to either select the measures an do layout->add less stretch until they fit, or perhaps reduce the overall scaling via layout->page settings.
